The start of VAULT Festival week 2 and there's load coming up! We got to have a short but sweet chat to Face Plant Theatre about their environmental clowning show, One Duck Down. What drove you to make One Duck Down?
We wanted to make One Duck Down because of the environmental message at its heart. It’s never been more important to raise awareness about looking after our oceans and we were keen to get younger audiences engaged with it in a fun and creative way Why do you choose to work with clowning? As writers we love clowning. We all worked together as actors on various shows and became united in our love of clowning as a form of storytelling. When clowning works on stage it can be so rewarding. And it’s a great form of comedy for all the family! What theatre ‘turn offs’ do you have? When Theatre is not inclusive. Theatre should be for everyone! We are very excited that our run of One Duck Down includes a relaxed performance on February 11th. What was the last show that moved you to action? The Lorax at the Old Vic was a beautiful show for families which tackled the environment really well and certainly inspired us into creating One Duck Down! What shows at VAULT are you looking forward to? We are very excited to watch This Egg’s Me and My Bee. We have heard lots of great things about it. One Duck Down is on at VAULT Festival from Feb 3-18 at 2.45pm! Comments are closed.
